In 1956 at the outskirts of Rakamaz town in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County a pair of gilded silver disks had been found, from the age of the Hungarian Conquest of the Carpathian Basin (9th-10th centuries). Presumably it was used to adorn the hair bundles of a classy lady. On both disks there is a nicely elaborated bird of prey, probably a "turul" bird from the Hungarian mythology. This holds two smaller birds in its legs, which are maybe its nestlings. The scientists concluded that the image represents an important scene from the Hungarian myths and legends: the "Dream of Emese". In the vision there is a turul bird which suggests Emese that a river will come out from her womb, and it will widen on a foreign land. So the offsprings of Emese will be the founders of a new home of the Magyars (Hungarians) in the Carpathian Basin.

According to the legends Emese was the ancestress of the Árpád House of kings, even the name "Emese" means "mother" or "mum". She was the mother of Prince Álmos, who was the father of Prince Árpád. Árpád was the leader of the tribes which conquered the Carpathian Basin ("Kárpát-medence") for the Magyars, as well as he founded the Árpád House dynasty of kings.

Also there is another explanation, which says the bigger bird is probably King Nimród (aka Ménrót) Van egy másik értelmezés is, mely szerint a nagy madár talán Nimród (vagy Ménrót), míg a két fióka a fiai, Hunor és Magor (vagy Magóg), azaz a hunok és a magyarok ősapái, a Csodaszarvas-monda főszereplői. De persze arra is van egy pici esély, hogy ez csupán egy egyszerű madár ábrázolás, dekoráció, honnan is tudhatnánk?

Egy biztos: a rakamazi korongok a honfoglaláskori magyar ötvösművészet remekei, ábrázolásuk talán ezért is került például Rakamaz település címerére, vagy éppen a püspökladányi Milleniumi emlékműre.
